'Time for a change'. I thought that I would change
our home page from a more personal web site that included pictures of my family
into a site that contains images, text and a collection of hyperlinks about our
hobbies and pastimes.
This site is always under development and I will
occasionally add new content! Please come back soon for any new content.
The 1st web site that I did was ' vegetarianfoodisfun ' I did it when I was a vegetarian! I am not a vegetarian anymore, I am leaving this site alone, there are still some good recipes.

About where we live
We live in
New Mills,
Derbyshire, England approximately 8 miles (13 km) south-east of Stockport.
It is sited at the confluence of the rivers Goyt and Sett, on the border of
Cheshire. The town is situated at the north western edge of the Peak District,
England's first national park. It has a population of approximately 10,000.
Districts of New Mills include Newtown and Low Leighton. The villages and
hamlets of Thornsett, Hague Bar, Rowarth, Brookbottom, Gowhole, and most of
Birch Vale, all fall within the town boundaries.
Swizzels Matlow New Mills is well known for a
British-based traditional confectionary manufacturer. Their more popular brands
of sweets include Love
Hearts, Swizzels Fizzers, Parma Violets, Rainbow Drops, Double Dip,
Drumstick Lollies, Snap & Crackle and Refreshers (the chew, as opposed to
the fizzy sweets made by Barratt). The company began as Matlow Bros. Ltd in
a small factory in London in 1928 by Alfred and Maurice Matlow. In 1933, they
formed Swizzles Limited along with David Dee. In 1940, The Blitz forced their
business to relocate northwards to New Mills, where it now remains. Later, in
1975, they adopted their current title Swizzels Matlow Ltd.
Online
petition - Bring Fibre-Optic Broadband To All of The UK It seems that
while most, if not all of the Southern UK has fibre-optics for their broadband,
giving them 24mb+ broadband, the North, especially Cumbria and the surrounding
area is still running an ADSL connections, and also rarely, ADSL2+.
For
the sake of the consumer, if fibre-optics were available, the market would be
more competitive, bringing prices down over the board, but giving the users
choices of faster broadband.
